Focus on the virtues of giving alms in this special month, as a form of love for the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, to increase faith, get double rewards, and emulate the noble morals of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The month of Rabiul Awal is the right time to increase good deeds, where alms can provide prosperity, erase sins, strengthen brotherhood, and bring blessings to life.
In fact, الله ﷻ praises His servants who give alms. Rasulullah ﷺ also conveyed this in several hadiths. Narrated by Ibn al-Mubarak, the Prophet conveyed the following virtues of alms:
مَا أَحْسَنَ عَبْدٌ الصَّدَقَةَ إِلَّا أَحْسَنَ الم وَجَلَّ الْخِلَافَةَ عَلَى تِرْكَتِهِ
Meaning: “No servant can repair his alms unless الله fixes a replacement for the property he has left behind.” (HR. Ibn al-Mubarak).
الله ﷻ has also promised heaven for those who are willing to spend some of their wealth for those in need. As this is contained in the Al-Qur’an Surah Ali Imran verses 133-134 below:
وَسَارِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ or لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
Meaning: “And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and to paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth prepared for the pious.”
